Rab is an island in the northern Adriatic, between the islands of Krk and Pag; area 93.6 sq km; population 9,205 (length 22 km).It consists mainlyof limestone forming two elevated plains; the peak Kamenjak (408 m) rises in the northeast, and Kalifront (92 m) in the southwest.
In addition to the ancient town of the same name, there are seven other idyllic places scattered over the island: Barbat, Banjol, Palit, Kampor, Mundanije, Supetarska Draga and Lopar.

To the north, the island is connected by ferryboat plying on the route Lopar-Valbiska (Krk) 4 times a day during the whole year. The journey lasts 1h30min.
To the south, ferryboats on the route Misnjak - Jablanac (a place 105 km. far from Rijeka) ply 8-20 times a day (even more frequently, if necessary) during the whole year. The journey lasts 15 minutes.
